Cincinnati’s International Children’s Day returns on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Trailside Nature Center (3251 Brookline Drive). This annual festival invites children and families across the Tri-State to explore global traditions, arts, and cultures right here in our neighborhood.
Building Bridges: The Story Behind the Event
Launched through a partnership between the Cincinnati USA Sister City Association, Cincinnati Parks, and local community leaders, International Children’s Day was created to foster peace, cultural curiosity, and global friendship among local youth.
Cincinnati maintains active Sister City relationships with partners around the globe, including Munich (Germany), Gifu (Japan), Liuzhou (China), Kharkiv (Ukraine), Mysore (India), Harare (Zimbabwe), Nancy (France), New Taipei City (Taiwan), and Amman (Jordan).
The centerpiece of the afternoon is the ceremonial Parade of Sister City Flags at 11:50 AM, where children carry flags representing Cincinnati's global partners, celebrating diversity, heritage, and mutual understanding.

- 11:15 AM: Musical Storytime with Mr. Eric (Clifton Branch Library)
- 11:50 AM: Parade of Sister City Flags & Opening Remarks
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Scottish Highland Dancers
- 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Circus Unity
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: River City Puppets
- Activities & Family Fun:
- Arts, Crafts & Music: Interactive crafts from Sister Cities, Clifton Branch Library, and Cincinnati Parks, plus the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) Cruiser "Art Studio on Wheels" and a Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Music Lab.
- Outdoor Adventures: Canoe rides on Burnet Woods Lake with the Camping & Education Foundation, and disc golf with The Nati Disc Golf.
- Entertainment & Giveaways: A stilt-walking balloon artist from Cincinnati Circus, the FC Cincinnati Street Team, and delicious eats from the Namaste India Food Truck.
Registration is completely free, and no RSVP is required. Bring the kids out for a wonderful afternoon celebrating our global neighbors right here in Clifton!
